Novità Microdermabrasion and Skin Peels

Novità Microdermabrasion Treatment

For beautiful skin...

Microdermabrasion is the new "lunch-time" approach to skin resurfacing. It stimulates the production of new skin cells and collagen. Less aggressive than laser resurfacing, microdermabrasion is a non-surgical treatment that does not require an anaesthetic. Treatments take 35-45 minutes.

Novità Microdermabrasion uses one of two methods to remove, then vacuum, the outer dead layer of the skin. For a more intensive effect we use a fine spray of alum crystals fired at the skin, and for more sensitive areas, or for Rosacea skins, we use diamond tipped wands to gently, but effectively, resurface the skin. Regular removal of the dead skin improves the appearance of:

  • Shallow acne scars

  • Hyperpigmentation (melasma)

  • Sun-damaged skin

  • Dull or ageing skin

  • Fine lines and wrinkles

  • Uneven skin tone and texture

  • Brown spots

Whilst the effects of microdermabrasion are not as dramatic as those of laser resurfacing, recovery time after the procedure is much shorter. There may be some redness afterwards but most clients return to work immediately! We can even apply Cozmetic Labs pure mineral makeup immediately following treatment, so nobody need know a thing.

Frequently Asked Questions about Microdermabrasion

What is Microdermabrasion?

Microdermabrasion is a scientific method, using fine, inert (micro) alum crystals to progressively abrade the skin's surface. It is used for skin resurfacing and treating a range of skin abnormalities. This treatment has been used in Europe for years; now this exciting procedure is helping men and women in Hampshire and Berkshire experience remarkable improvements in their skin texture, regardless of skin colour. With our Novità microdermabrasion skin treatment program, you can see immediate improvements in your skin's appearance. This unique approach removes dead and flaking skin cells and stimulates the production of fresh, young skin cells and collagen.

How does Microdermabrasion work and what results can I expect?

Micro-crystals are vacuumed through a delicate hand piece, which is held at a precise angle to the skin, producing a skin-polishing peel. In as little as 30 - 40 minutes, this gentle abrasive technique efficiently produces satisfying results. Treatments are applied through a course of regular sessions. Microdermabrasion enhances the skin’s condition by stimulating collagen production and does what no other available non-surgical treatment can do in combating the signs of ageing skin. Most importantly, it is safe to use on all skin types and colours.

Age spots and fine lines are reduced, pores are unclogged, acne is diminished, collagen is stimulated and a more uniform tone is evident. Most clients report that their skin is visibly tighter, softer, smoother and younger-looking, even immediately after their first treatment.

Some physicians also see an improvement caused by collagen tightening on the layer of skin beneath the layer treated by microdermabrasion. This further reduces the appearance of lines and wrinkles though the effect is temporary: microdermabrasion treatments must be repeated in order to sustain the effect.

How soon will I see results?

You will notice an immediate improvement after your first treatment. Your skin will have a fresh pink glow and smoother texture. Improvements continue throughout your treatment program.

How long does a Microdermabrasion treatment take?

Most facial microdermabrasion treatments take 40 minutes. Other areas may vary. Call Calla today on 01635 749749 for your complimentary consultation!

How many treatments will I need?

Fantastic results are achieved with the first session! Unless your skin is deeply scarred from acne there is often no need to undergo a course of treatments.

Who should consider Microdermabrasion?

Microdermabrasion is perfect for all skin types and for anyone interested in minimising the appearance of:

Scarring

  • Fine lines
  • Pigmentation problems
  • Uneven skin tones
  • Dull, lifeless and sun-damaged skin
  • Microdermabrasion is not recommended anyone who has taken the acne drug Roaccutane within the past six months because there is a risk of creating scarring or injury.

If you have recently had wrinkle relaxing or dermal filler treatment it may be necessary to delay the start of your Novità microdermabrasion program for approximately 3 weeks.

Also, because there is a risk that microdermabrasion may stimulate a new outbreak, patients who have a history of herpes simplex (cold sores) around their lips should consider taking an oral antiviral medication before undergoing microdermabrasion.

What should I do after my treatment?

Following your Novità microdermabrasion treatment you may find that you experience skin peeling; and we will recommend that you use a moisturiser and sun screen following the procedure, both of which are available from Calla.

Like most of Calla’s non-invasive treatments, there is no downtime. You can resume your daily activities immediately after your Novità microdermabrasion treatment. It is recommended you avoid sun exposure on the treated area for at least 24 hours. Also, because your outer layer of skin has been exfoliated, the treated area will be sensitive to hot water and sweat for the first day.

Novità microdermabrasion is just one of the many excellent beauty and non surgical treatments offered at Calla. Call today to discover more!

    How much does it cost?

Prices start from only £65 per session.

    Novità Chemical Peels

For skin that really needs a bit of oomph, whether acne scarred, spotty, sun damaged or dry, there is a skin peel for you. It is best applied immediately following a diamond tipped microdermabrasion treatment for greater absorption of the product. There are different percentages of peel available within each type - you will be advised as to which one is right for your individual needs at your consultation.

Glycolic Acid - Great for any skin type. Thicker, clogged skin types, sun damaged, mottled pigmentation and fine wrinkles will all be improved by glycolic acid peeling.

Lactic Acid - hydration, hydration hydration! Nourishing and hydrating, this peel is for mature skins with medium-deep lines and wrinkles. No visible peeling is associated with this peel, just amazingly hydrated skin!

BHA Peel - Used mainly on badly acne scarred, acne prone, pigmented, clogged, oily sebaceous skins, this peel will achieve a greater degree of exfoliation.

Prices range between £75 and £100, depending upon type and strength.
